  • Another example can be, if someone charges from 50% to 100% SOC always, that means in 10 days he will complete 5 cycles.
What are the safety features of iQube battery pack considering it is lithium-ion battery?
  • Aluminium casing: To rule out any physical damage and faster cooling of the battery pack.

What is the Self-drain percentage of the battery pack?

With the key off condition, Battery pack will discharge less than 0.5% in 1 day at 100% SOC.

Which type of Lithium-ion battery is used?

The battery used in TVS iQube is Lithium-ion with NMC (Nickel Magnesium Cobalt) Cell chemistry.

Is an extra battery pack available for the vehicle?
  • No, there is no extra battery pack available as of now.
  • iQube already comes with 2 battery packs.
During voltage fluctuations or low voltages is it safe to charge and will the battery get charged?
  • It is safe, since the carry along charger that comes with an iQube has an inbuilt voltage fluctuation protection.
  • It is always recommended to use a TVS recommended charger to ensure safety of your vehicle and maintain the warranty.
In the event of a crash, what will be the impact on the vehicle and battery?

The severity of any impact will depend on the nature of the crash. iQube prioritizes rider safety in all unlikely scenarios through multiple levels of safety standards. The scooter and battery come with multiple fail-safe mechanisms; this ensures the vehicle will shut off to protect itself from any abnormal functionality post the crash. The vehicle is equipped with crash detection sensors which is capable of sending an SOS to your emergency contact

Can I take out the battery and charge it at home?
  • No, the batteries are designed to be non-removable, and are continuously monitored along with the controllers in the vehicle which keeps the batteries safe.H
  • However, tampering with the batteries and connectors is unsafe and will also void the warranty.
Will the battery bulge if the vehicle is overcharged?
  • The battery is not designed to get overcharged.
  • The battery has a smart-protection system that will not allow the battery to get overcharged and bulged thereafter.
Can I know the SOH of my battery?

TVS iQube is having controllers which can diagnose battery State of Health (SOH) through diagnostic port using diagnostic tool, which is available at authorized TVS dealership workshops.

How does battery react to extreme temperature?
  • The iQube is designed and tested across some of the harshest environments. While the battery packs are designed to operate from 0°C to 55°C.
  • The smart battery management system is programmed to take the necessary measures to protect the battery pack under all circumstances.
  • This includes limiting the performance of the vehicle and even pause charging until conditions are within a safe operating region.
  • The iQube intelligent systems handle all conditions to ensure a safe riding experience.
What is the expected life of Battery?

Yes a single battery pack can be replaced in Iqube. However, the performance of vehicle will depend on the SOH of the other existing battery pack. iQube battery pack comes with warranty for 2 years/30000 kms whichever occurs earlier.

Can I ride the vehicle after not using it for a long period?
  • Yes, the TVS iQube has one of the lower rate of discharge of any EV scooter, in the category.
  • It loses only about 5% charge for 10 days of non-operation.
  • That means, even if you took a month-long vacation, your scooter would have only dropped by roughly 15% of the charge when you got back.
  • However, for best results, ensure you leave your TVS iQube with atleast 50% charge.

Will the range of vehicle get affected if the charging is done very frequently?

No, the range will not get affected even if the vehicle is charged frequently.

What will be the range of the vehicle after it’s been used for more than a year?
  •  The exact range of the vehicle depends on multiple factors like distance travelled, charge and discharge cycles, and temperature profile of the city.
  •  Just, as in any battery the capacity reduces, but the high-quality cells used in iQube ensures better life.
  • The capacity remains good enough to run the vehicle for daily commute.
  • The battery life is designed to be same or more than the life of the scooter, however battery attenuation of 10-20% is expected around 75,000 KM mark based on the usage pattern.
How do I get the best range and energy efficiency out of my TVS iQube?

Here are few tips to get the better range out of your TVS iQube.

  • Do not hold brakes while riding: Though it is a common practice among scooter riders to hold the rear brakes ever so slightly while riding, it should be avoided as it reduces the life of your brakes and burns extra energy in the process, thus reducing your efficiency.
  • Avoid overloading your scooter: The more weight you carry the more energy is used.
  • Rapid acceleration and riding at high speeds also use up your battery faster.
  • Maintain the recommended tyre pressure and check frequently. If they are under-inflated, their rolling resistance increases. As a result, more energy is wasted to move your scooter.

What is Regenerative braking?

Regenerative braking captures energy that is otherwise lost during braking and then uses this power to help recharge the vehicle's battery.

Regenerative braking works only below 80% SOC (State of Charge)

How much is the weight carrying capacity of Floorboard?

Floorboard can carry a weight upto 50 Kgs.

Can I use other electric vehicle chargers for charging the TVS iQube.

No, you cannot charge TVS iQube with any other charger.

-       

However, in future TVS may provide higher capacity chargers for iQube.

It is advised to use TVS provided chargers only to charge your iQube for better performance and longer life of the battery.

Can I get the socket installation done on my own.

iQube can be charged using any standard 5A/15A domestic socket.

-       

You can get the installation done on your own, though we would suggest getting the home charging feasibility survey arranged by TVSM authorized dealer.

Survey will help in ensuring safety of your vehicle and your family.

Will I get warranty if charger cable gets damaged.
The warranty terms & conditions of iQube doesn’t cover any kind of external damage being done to  the vehicle or any of its components. Hence you can’t claim the warranty for damage on the charger cable.

How much energy is consumed to charge the iQube? How much does it cost for one full charge of TVS iQube?

It takes around 3.04 KWH of electricity to fully charge the TVS iQube. This is equivalent to 3.04 Units of electricity.

-       

Assuming cost of electricity to be 12 NPR per unit, it would cost you just 37 NPR for charging your TVS iQube from 0% to 100%.

-       

This will allow you to cover a distance of around 100 KM per charge.

Does TVS iQube come with fast charging?

-       

Fast charging impacts the lifespan of Lithium-ion batteries and as of now TVS iQube does not support fast charging.

-       

We are continuously working on fast charging network that has the least impact on  battery life and will launch it in the market at the earliest.

What are the requirements for charging vehicle at home?

-       

The TVS iQube comes with a 650W plug-and-play charger that can be used to charge the vehicle at any standard 5A domestic socket.

You need to have a stable power supply at your home, which we will further check during the home charging feasibility survey, if agreed on payment basis.

-       

Installation service can also be provided on paid basis, if you are opting for it.

How will I know when the charging is complete?

The cluster will show the battery status as 100% and switch off after a delay once fully charged.

Is there any risk in charging the vehicle even after it is 100% charged?

No, there is no risk to your TVS iQube as it comes equipped with a smart battery management system which prevents overcharging.

What do different colour of LED lights on charger means?

-       

There is only one LED light.

-       

If the Green LED light of charger is blinking, it indicates that the charger is ON and charging the vehicle.

If the Red LED light of charger is ON, it indicates that operating supply conditions are not met and charger is not working.

If I relocate, will you help me in conducting the charging infra feasibility survey and provide the installation service.

Yes, we will be happy to help you in relocating and conduct the feasibility survey along with the installation service if needed.

It will be at an additional cost.

I stay in a rented apartment/house. What if my landlord or residents’ association does not allow to charge the vehicle?

-       

This is a valid concern, but not as big a phenomenon as might be perceived.

Among the feasibility surveys that we have carried out, very few have had permission issues from the landlord or the society. We’ve had instances where, after some initial hesitation, permission has been granted. In cases where the concerned parties have some apprehension, we will support in addressing the concerns if any to help you get the approvals.

Also, just for your understanding, the regular installation involves minimal drilling.

It just requires four small 1-inch diameter holes for mounting the point and standard drilling holes for wire routing, which is a regular practice and damaging in no way. We can assure you that there is no need to worry since the installation procedure is simple enough for any electrician to perform.

Does the charger consume any power on standby?

If the vehicle is at 0% SOC, and vehicle is charged after 1 month – what are the precautions to be taken?

-       

Vehicle can be plugged in to the off-board charger in this case without anything to worry about.

-       

Though we always recommend charging the vehicle once in 14 days.

-       

Vehicle should be kept above 50% SOC, whenever being left idle for more than a week.

 

Will I get warranty replacement if wheel rim with hub mounted motor gets bent?

-       

Motor is tested for its robustness along with the rim.

-       

However, there is a chance of accidental damage to rim in the form of rim bend.

-       

Primary reason for rim bend is low tyre pressure, and riding through a pothole at high speed.

-       

Since the nature of rim bend is accidental, it should be covered under insurance, subjected to approval from your insurance provider.\

What kind of failures may occur in motor, and will these be covered under warranty?

-       

Motor may have failure mode of jam or no response.

-       

Both these failures without any external damage, can be replaced under warranty as per the warranty clause mentioned in owner’s manual.

Which motor is used in iQube?

-       

The motor used is an energy efficient low noise BLDC hub motor with 4.6 KW peak power and has been put through rigorous tests in the harshest weather and road conditions.

Can the vehicle be driven in hilly areas?

-       

The TVS iQube has a gradeability of 10 degrees, which makes it easy to ride over inclined roads.

Will rainwater/washing the vehicle affect instrument cluster?

-       

Instrument cluster is IP67 rated, which means it not only works fine while it is drizzling, but it can also withstand the regular pressure jet used for washing.

-       

However, we recommend that you do not direct the water at areas like the charging port, the bag hook area or underneath the seat.

-       

Your vehicle will also not have any effect while riding in rain.

Will any external damage to the instrument cluster be covered under warranty?

TVS iQube’s Warranty terms & condition doesn’t cover any kind of physical damage to the vehicle or its component.

Hence, external damage on instrument cluster will not get covered under warranty, though there is a possibility to claim it under insurance repair, subjected to approval from the insurance provider.

Why is there an alert on my instrument cluster?

-       

TVS iQube is equipped with advanced safety features, which results in alert on the instrument cluster.

To ensure the safety of you and your TVS iQube Electric S, in high temperature conditions, whenever the temperature of vehicle components reaches a critical point, as a safety measure, performance of some systems are deliberately reduced to optimize the temperature. This is indicated by the MIL (Malfunction indicator lamp) on your dashboard which glows for some time and due to reduced performance, the system temperature reduces, and MIL light stops glowing.

There are other alerts such as Side stand Indicator and Low SOC alert (DTE indicator will blink).

Does the day/night mode on instrument cluster get changed automatically?

No, brightness will have to be manually adjusted from the settings in cluster.

What is HMI switch and how to operate it?

-       

The HMI switch/controller is a 5-way joystick that helps you navigate through various functionalities on the cluster easily.

To operate the menu screens on the cluster, the HMI switch is used in the following manner:

Top and Bottom – To scroll the menu.

·      

Centre – To enter menu screen / To enter selected menu.

Left – To go back to previous screen.

Right – To scroll the widgets in the selected menu in horizontal direction.

Is the DTE on instrument cluster accurate?

DTE (Distance to Empty) helps the user know how much distance can be travelled with the remaining charge.

DTE is proportional to the SOC left, however actual range will depend on riding pattern and road conditions.

How to change date and time on cluster?

-       

Date and time are linked with GPS satellite like mobile phones and cannot be altered.

1. How do I connect my smartphone to the TVS iQube?

Your smartphone will be connected to the vehicle through the Mobile app – TVS Connect.

This can be downloaded by scanning the QR code provided in the Owner’s Manual or links on the website.

Is it possible for my friend to connect his mobile with my vehicle?

Yes, it is possible to connect as a secondary user, provided he has the necessary information regarding the vehicle and mobile app connectivity.

Will It affect the mobile connectivity feature if I change my mobile number?

-       

No, your connected scooter experience won’t be hampered if you choose to change your mobile number.

You must request a change of registered mobile number by contacting the TVS authorized service centre.

Once the Mobile app is connected with the vehicle instrument cluster, incoming  call options will be shown in instrument cluster while you are riding the vehicle as shown below.

What do you mean by incognito mode in vehicle?

Incognito mode stops all location tracking and collection, ensuring that rider’s movements and location information are not stored or shared with any parties, ensuring maximum privacy and anonymity during the ride.

How is the privacy of my vehicle data ensured when granting vehicle access to friends and family?

When any other user apart from the primary user adds themselves on the same vehicle, they are added as a secondary user.

-       

Secondary users cannot access “My vehicle data” for primary user.

If I change the phone no. or email ID, will my earlier profile data get deleted?

-       

No, the earlier profile data will remain intact even if the phone number or email ID is changed.

-       

To get the phone number or email ID changed, user has to reach out to nearest TVS authorized service centre.

How will I get the login credentials of TVS Connect?

A user has to sign-up using the email ID and mobile number before using the app for the first time.

Authentication will be done through OTP sent on phone number and email ID.

Will the TVS Connect disconnect from the vehicle after certain period of inactivity?
- No, the TVS Connect will not disconnect after a certain period of inactivity.
What is the Bluetooth distance range in iQube.

- Bluetooth distance range in iQube is 10 meters.

What are the benefits of RSA service?

- Unlimited pickups for the subscribed period within the city limits to the nearest TVS authorized service centre.

- It covers puncture assistance and towing facility in case of immobilization.

What is the Turn-around time for RSA? How long after I place a request will someone reach the location?

- Depending on the Traffic condition of the city, Turn Around Time may vary.

- However, targeted time to reach the RSA location is within 60 mins.

How do I avail the RSA service?
- To avail/register for RSA support, please dial the toll-free number or hotline number given at the back of owner’s manual.
Do I need to purchase RSA along with the vehicle?

- No, you need not purchase RSA separately.

- RSA will be provided free of cost for the first year.

- It has to be renewed post that on chargeable basis.

What are the renewal terms of RSA?

- RSA can be renewed by paying 800 NPR from second year onwards.

- It includes unlimited number of pickups.

Will I get RSA in case of charge runover?

- No, charge runover is not covered under RSA.

- However, RSA support can be provided under chargeable basis in such scenarios.

Can I avail RSA support if my subscription is lapsed?
- Yes, RSA can be availed on chargeable basis based on distance to be covered by the RSA truck in picking up the vehicle from RSA location to nearest TVS authorized service centre.

Can a customer approach a roadside tyre puncher repair shop instead of contacting our service centre in the event of a rear flat tire?

- Yes, the tyre puncture can be repaired at a roadside tyre puncture shop.

- However, in case of rear tyre replacement, it is recommended to get it done with the help of tyre changing machine, as any damage on the wheel rim might damage the hub mounted motor as well.

Is the vehicle safe to ride in Monsoon rains?

- Yes, your vehicle is absolutely safe to be used in rains.

- Many components in the vehicle are IP 67 rated, which is one of the highest ratings for water ingress protection.

Can I Ride the vehicle in stagnant water?

- Yes, you can ride the iQube in stagnant water up to a depth of six inches or 150 mm, with all safety precautions taken for the rider.

- You can be rest assured that all the key components below the floorboard are IP67 rated and will not be affected.

- We recommend you to watch for potholes though.

What if my vehicle is completely submerged in water?

- Avoid switching ON the vehicle if your vehicle is completely submerged in water for more than 30 minutes.

- Call the RSA, for taking the vehicle to TVS authorized service centre for further inspection without switching ON.

Can I charge the vehicle immediately after riding it in rain?

- Yes, vehicle can be charged immediately after riding in rain.

- However, ensure that the surface around the vehicle is dry and charger is kept on a dry surface.

- Also, ensure the charging port and charging coupler is completely dry.

Will the failure of components due to vehicle submerged in water get covered in warranty?

- The warranty terms and conditions of iQube doesn’t cover any failure due to external factors or natural calamities.

- Hence, water entry will not get covered under warranty.

- However, you can claim under insurance subjected to approval from your insurance provider.

What is the service interval of iQube?

- First Service of iQube must be done at 1000 KMs or 1 month whichever is earlier.

- Second service has to be done at 4000 KMs or 4 month whichever is earlier.

- Thereafter, vehicle has to be serviced at every 4000 KMs or 4 months interval.

How many free services are provided?
- There are 4 Free services provided with iQube which has to be availed within 12 months from the date of purchase.
What are the activities performed in iQube’ s periodic service?
- iQube’s periodic service consists of 20 point all round check-up of your vehicle to ensure its optimum performance.

How much will be the yearly ownership cost?
- Maintenance cost of vehicle in 4 years will be around 25000 NPR, if per day km coverage is 30 KMs.
What are the consumables that will be covered under servicing?

- TVS iQube being an electric scooter, requires minimum consumables during service. Depending on the maintenance schedule or the amount of wear on the parts, replacements may be required.

- Parts will be charged as per cost and labour charges for the service provided will be added to your service invoice.

Can I get my vehicle serviced at any TVS service centre?

- No, the TVS iQube can be serviced only at iQube authorized workshops.

- This is because we have deployed special service set-ups and specially trained technicians for iQube.

How much time will it take to get the periodic service done?
- If you have taken a prior appointment, periodic service of your iQube will get completed in 1 hr, considering there are no additional jobs to be done.
What is the cost of periodic service parts?

- Cost of periodic service parts are as follows:

• Brake Pad – 889 NPR

• Brake Shoe – 523 NPR

• Fork Oil – 240 NPR

• Brake Oil – 290 NPR

Will my warranty get void if I miss the periodic service?

- It is important to get periodic checks done by the trained service technicians to ensure optimum performance of the vehicle.

- Hence, warranty will be void if any periodic maintenance scheduled service is missed.

Do I need to pay for repairs when in Warranty period?
- Repair jobs which are not in the scope of periodic maintenance or any kind of failure arising due to external factors not covered under the scope of warranty terms and conditions will be under paid basis.
How can I book an appointment for my Service?

How will I be reminded of the periodic service of my scooter?

Can the iQube be serviced at a typical multi-brand EV repair workshop once the warranty period (2 Years or 30000 Km) has ended

- TVS authorized service centres have trained technicians, required special tools and diagnosis tools to repair the vehicle, which will ensure the vehicle’s performance is optimum after the repairs.

- Hence, it is advisable to always get the vehicle serviced from a TVS authorized service centre.

What is Lifetime battery assurance (LBA) program?

LBA program guarantees a trouble free ownership experience, allowing the user to drive home TVS iQube at a cost equivalent to that of a petrol scooter, without having to worry about battery performance, battery life or battery replacement cost.

 

Any battery related issue will be resolved at no additional cost as long as customer continues to be subscribed to the LBA program by paying a nominal monthly subscription fee.

 

Customers choosing the LBA program can drive home the TVS iQube from Rs 2,99,900 opt for one of the subscription plans below

 

Option 1:

1st 36 months: Payment of NPR 2,999 per month

37th month onwards, until lifetime: Payment of NPR 1499 + VAT per month

Option 2:

1st 24 months: Payment of NPR 4,499 per month

25th month onwards, until lifetime: Payment of NPR 999 + VAT per month

Under the LBA program, customer can request a change of battery once the battery State of Health (SOH) reaches below 70% during the subscription period.

Does this Lifetime battery assurance program cover only Battery or is applicable to other vehicle parts as well?

This only applies to the battery of TVS iQube; other parts are covered as per the standard warranty policy of TVS iQube 

If I am not getting low range during the LBA membership period, what should I do?

The customer should contact the nearest TVS iQube dealer. Dealer’s service team will examine the battery and address any battery related concerns free of cost.


If battery's state of health (SOH) is less than 70% and the customer is a member of LBA program, the battery will be replaced free of cost at any authorized TVS iQube dealer in Nepal. 

What should I do, if I have to end the subscription?

Customer has the option to end the subscription plan anytime after 3 years in Option 1 and 2 years in Option 2 

What will be the TVS iQube warranty If I plan to buy the vehicle without LBA program?

Standard warranty of 2 years or 30,000 kms will be applicable. 

Can I track my battery performance during the Lifetime battery assurance (LBA) period?

State of health (SOH) measurement is part of the periodic maintenance schedule; customer can enquire about it during the service visit.

I am an existing customer of TVS iQube and want to enter in the Lifetime battery assurance (LBA) program?

Existing customers of TVS iQube can become member of the lifetime battery assurance program anytime before the 25th Month from the date of purchase of TVS iQube.

Customer can become a member by enrolling in LBA program through a monthly subscription fee of NPR 999 + VAT (25th month onwards)

What will happen if the battery is damaged in an accident?

Battery will be covered as per the standard insurance policy (Subjected to the approval from respective insurance company), any damage or impact on the performance of the battery due to some external factors will not be covered in the subscription plan.
